Alvarez de Toledo - Mencia Roble 2021, Spain
Deep violet to the eye, this wine has a nose of black and red berries and fennel pollen. Bright flavors of raspberry and pomegranate wash across the palate joined by bittersweet chocolate, mint, espresso and mocha notes wrapped in a layer of rigorous tannins. The enduring finish is marked with a note of chocolate-covered cherry. WE93 / Hidden Gem 15.99
Albert Bichot Aligote Blanc 2024, France
Bourgogne Aligoté is an appellation produced throughout Burgundy though it is mostly found in the vineyards around Auxerre, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Nuits. It shows a fresh nose featuring scents of white flowers and fruit (apple, pear, lemon…) underscored by a touch of minerality. This wine is fresh and lively on the palate, featuring nice balance and a lovely, refreshing finish. 22.99
